| Kaiawase and Kaioi are usually referred to as the same game. In reality they are quite different. Kaiawase is a game or sport of which contestants bring in their shells and have them judged on superiority. The game of Kaioi is played with shells decorated on the inside. Pieces are placed with the image side down and are turned over one at a time to find a match to a single shell placed in the center. This game is similar to the game we know as Concentration or Memory. |
